Dr. Sabina Sarin

Dr. Sabina Sarin is a licensed clinical psychologist, sex and trauma therapist (somatic experiencing practitioner), educator, and yoga and mindfulness teacher with over 17 years of training and 15 years of experience in treating individuals and couples with a wide range of sexual and relational difficulties. She completed her Master's degrees (MSc, MPhil) at Yale University in Psychology and Gender Studies, and her PhD in Clinical Psychology from McGill University. She has worked in several private clinics and hospitals in Ontario and Quebec, and was Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at McGill University, where she trained interns in the principles and practices of sex therapy and somatic (body-based) therapies. She has worked with people struggling with body image/ eating disorders, depression and grief, anxiety disorders, relational stress (divorce, infidelity) and traumatic stress, in addition to various sexual dysfunctions (e.g., low desire, anorgasmia). Dr. Sarin has published book chapters and articles primarily on the mind-body connection in sexual desire and arousal (and arousal disorders), as well as on the relationship between body image and sexual function. She has also studied the sexual health of women in the sex industry (escorts, dancers) and has run yoga and support groups with Asian survivors of sexual trafficking. Dr. Sarin presently specializes in working with women with histories of maltreatment and has a passion for working with BIPOC and those who have suffered from oppression due to their minority status. She dreams of one day being part of a world where diversity is truly celebrated and learned from, instead of assimilated, suppressed, or transformed.
